Director formerly known as Andy Wachowski comes out as transgender
When the Chicago-based Wachowski filmmaking duo created and directed The Matrix back in 1999, they were known as the Wachowski brothers, but now they’re the Wachowski sisters. Forty-eight-year-old Lilly Wachowski, formerly known as Andy, announced Tuesday that she is a transgender woman after being approached by the London-based Daily Mail.
